SHIRLEY A. PLUNK
Shirley A. Plunk, 80, of Quincy, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday (March 20, 2017) in Blessing Hospital.
She was born June 3, 1936 in Novelty, Missouri, the daughter of Leland and Louise Locket Shouse. She married Clifford E. Plunk on October 3, 1980, in LaPlata, Missouri, at her parents home.
Shirley graduated from Brashear Missouri High School and attended Gem City Business College.
Shirley and Clifford moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1982 and lived and worked there until 2005, when they moved back to Quincy to be near their family and friends. While living in Quincy, Shirley worked at Motorola until they closed and after they moved to the Lake, she worked in customer service at the Outlet Mall for 13 years.
She went to the Crossing 929 Church and was a devoted wife and mother. She loved all of her family and friends, loved to sing, read and laugh and do things with her beloved husband Clifford and her family and friends. Her two little Yorkies Misty and Sissy made her smile a lot. So many people touched her life and she cared so much for all of them.
In addition to her husband Clifford, Shirley is survived by a son, Brad (Lois) Dickson of Quincy; a step-daughter Brenda (Richard) Martin of Fowler, IL; a step-son Tim (Laura) Plunk of Quincy; ten grandchildren, Mackenzie (Logan) Kammerer, Tara (Michael) Vedenhaupt, Jordan Dickson, Brandi Dickson, Zack Bowen, Jennifer Martin, Tanner Plunk, Taylor Plunk, Dagan (Molly) Hibbard and Daxton Hibbard; ten great-grandchildren, Aria, Everly, Hugo Kammerer, Malachi, Korbyn, Braxton, Jocelyn Vedenhaupt, Maya Dickson, Ryder Dickson and Jordan Dickson Jr.; a brother, Bill Shouse of LaPlata, Missouri; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Smith, an infant daughter, Rebecca Ann who died at birth, her parents, Leland and Louise Shouse; and her dearly loved father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Fern Plunk.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Dennis officiating. Private burial will be held in Shiloh Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 and Thursday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
