SHIRLEY LEE KNIGHT
Shirley Lee Knight, of the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Missouri, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Monday (January 1, 2018) at the nursing home.
Born December 17, 1935 in Camp Point, Illinois, Shirley was the daughter of Harm and Ellen Tournear Kaufman. She married Elmo A. Knight Sr. on November 17, 1956 in Quincy. He prededed her in death on April 14, 2007.
Shirley had been a member of Faith Assembly of God Church where she sang in the choir. She loved singing, sewing and shopping.
Shirley was employed as a receptionist and office manager for Dalia Homes in Denver, Colorado for 14 years before moving back to the Quincy area.
Survivors include a son, Elmo Ardell Knight Jr. of Quincy; two granddaughters, Stacey and Mandy; three great grandchildren; a brother, Harm "Danny" Kaufman (Glenna) of Quincy; a sister, Helen Louise Baldwin of Quincy; and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ricky Odell Knight; five sisters, Mary Loop, Betty Forrest, Donna Klossing, and infants, Esther Lucille Kaufman and Carol Jean Kaufman; two brothers, Willard Kaufman and infant, Herman Dennis Kaufman; and a brother in law, Richard Baldwin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday (January 9, 2018) afternoon at 1:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor V. Lee Amsler officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Camp Point, Illinois.
Visitation will be Monday (January 8, 2018) evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
