Stephen Harre, 51, of Quincy Terrace, 1233 North 6th, Quincy, died at 4:15am Tuesday (April 4, 2017) at Quincy Terrace.
Born January 9, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan, Stephen was the son of Farrell D. and Phyllis E. Hood Harre.
Stephen was a 1984 graduate of Quincy High School. He was an avid reader and loved attending car shows with his best friend, his dad, Farrell. Stephen loved spending time with his family and enjoyed when uncle Larry brought popsicles to his group home or surprising him with large boxes of chocolates. He enjoyed when Mary, Susie or Randy would take him to McDonald's for a Big Mac and french fries and he looked forward to Sundays because he knew Mary or his uncle Larry would pick him up and treat him with a special treat.
Stephen had been employed at Industrial Support Systems and later at Transitions of Western Illinois.
Survivors include his step mother and caretaker, Mary Harre of Quincy; an uncle, Larry Hood (Karen) of Paloma, IL; two aunts, Shirley White of Stevens Point, WI and Beulah Smith (Clyde) of House Springs, MO; a step sister, Susie Westerman (Randy) of Quincy; a step brother, Steven Patterson (Jennifer) of Quincy; step nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Patterson, Mark Patterson, Kelli Patterson, Andrew Patterson, Parker Westerman, Paige Westerman and Claire Westerman; two cousins Amy Beth Dormire (Mark) of St. Charles, MO and their son, Alden and Aby Lee Pope (Cody) of Springfield, IL and their daughter, Laurel.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Scot "Scottie" Harre.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in Madison Park Christian Church by Pastor Chuck Sackett. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 12:00 until the time of services at Madison Park Christian Church.
Arrangements are in the care of Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
