Unako "Akemi" Altheide, 82, of Angier, North Carolina, died on Wednesday (April 13, 2016) in Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, North Carolina.
Born June 13, 1933, in Japan, Akemi was the daughter of Yoshio and Chiya Hira Fukuyama. She married Richard S. Altheide on August 14, 1973 in Naha, Japan . He survives.
Akemi was an auxillary member of Gideon International and attended the Coats North Carolina Baptist Church.
Mrs. Altheide was a devoted homemaker and had worked as a seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, Richard of Angier, North Carolina; a sister, Yoshiko Nagasaki of Miyazaki, Japan; a brother, Eetarw Fukuyama of Kagoshima, Japan; her mother in law, Wilmena Altheide of Quincy; a brother in law, Robert L. Altheide Jr. of Mendon, IL; two sisters in law, Vicky Spindler (Tom) of Cumming, GA and Tina Hall (Roger) of Pittsfield, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. V. Lee Amsler.
There is no vistation but friends are invited to the graveside services. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Riverside Community Church or the Gideons International.
