Mrs. Vivian Dorothy Dobey, 93, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 2611 Kings Pointe S. W., Quincy, died at 11:08 p.m. Tuesday (September 16, 2014) in Good Samaritan Home.
Born March 11, 1921 in Quincy, Vivian was the daughter of Arthur G. and Ionia J. Thixton Nebe. She married Reuben Dobey on December 2, 1939 in Hannibal, Missouri. He survives.
A 1939 graduate of Quincy High School, Vivian enjoyed sewing and was a gifted seamstress. She was a member of Spring Lake Country Club and had been an avid golfer.
Survivors include her husband, Reuben; a daughter in law, Sandra Dobey of Monticello, MO; a granddaughter, Heather Maguire (Dennis) of Cincinnati, OH; a great granddaughter, Molly Grace Maguire; and a brother, Raymond Nebe (Ingrid) of Quincy.
Mrs. Dobey was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Ted Dobey; a grandson, Brian Michael Dobey; two brothers, Robert Nebe and Arthur Nebe; and four sisters, Marie Yates, Royln Hughes, Ionia Bailey and Norma Jean Robertson.
Mrs. Dobey was cremated. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
