VIVIAN W. CLAPP
Vivian W. Clapp, 96, of Maywood, Missouri, formerly of Quincy, died at 2:38 p.m. Sunday (November 27, 2016) in Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, Missouri.
Born April 7, 1920, in Clayton, Illinois, Vivian was the daughter of Ira and Mary Frame Martin. She married James A. "Doc" Clapp on March 21, 1936, in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1981.
Vivian was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and sewing, especially sewing doll clothing. Vivian cherished the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Joann Ellis (Vernon) of Quincy and Janet Clark (John) of Maywood, MO; one son, Jim Clapp of Davenport, IA; 7 grandchildren, Vernon Ellis Jr (Mary), Laura Cain (Tom), Vicki Cross (Rob), Jay Neese, Dennis Neese, Jennifer Clapp and Natalie Clapp; several great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Clapp was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James "Doc"; one son, Victor Clapp; two granddaughters, Christina M. Clark and Leslie Manley; one brother; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Marlin Rempfer officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 3:00 to 6:00 at the funeral home.
