WILFERD LEE HUDDLESTON
Mr. Wilferd Lee Huddleston, 79, of the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, Illinois, formerly of Marseilles, Illinois, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday (June 28, 2013) at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy.
Born April 6, 1934 in King City, Missouri, Wilferd was the son of Robert and Mildred Meadows Huddleston. He married Sharon L. Zeilmann on September 7, 1965 in Dixon, Illinois. She survives.
Mr. Huddleston served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Ottawa American Legion Post #33 and the Marseilles Masonic Lodge No. 417. Wilferd enjoyed playing cards and being with his family and friends.
Mr. Huddleston was employed at Union Carbide in Ottawa, IL and later for Libby-Owens Ford for several years until his retirement in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; a son, Wilferd Lee Huddleston Jr of Marseilles, IL; a daughter, Debra Sorrows of Redland, CA; two grandchildren, Tristan Sorrows and Jimmy Sorrows; a brother, Ronald Huddleston (Sharon) of Ft. Meyers, FL; a sister, Betty Bjelland (Art) of Texas; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Huddleston was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Huddleston. Committal services will be held Thursday (July 11, 2013) in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois by Pastor Chris Beansley.
The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
