WILLIAM ROBERT SEMLOW
Mr. William Robert Semlow, 68, of the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, formerly of Oak Forest, Illinois , died at 4:15 pm Friday (July 19, 2013) at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy.
Born September 18, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, Bill was the son of Wilbur and Edna Witbro Semlow. He married Eileen O’Conner on December 26, 1970 in Chicago. She preceded him in death on October 22, 2009.
Mr. Semlow served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of St. Damien Mens Club, VFW post # 2791, American Legion post #615.
Mr. Semlow was employed at Tony Piet, Thomas Pontiac, & Al Johnson Cadillac.
Survivors include daughter, Christine Kamberos (Stephen) of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Gus & Lou Kamberos; two brothers, Dave & Tim Semlow; and two sisters, Joan Gibbons & Diane Currano.
Mr. Semlow was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eileen, and his uncles; John, Richard, Jerry and Raymond Semlow.
Visitation will be at All Faiths Chapel at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 in the All Faiths Chapel at the Illinois Veterans Home. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Thursday afternoon at 2:30 pm in section #7-680.
